# Utility Tools

DANTE utilities have been developed to provide the user with the ability to customize and expand the material database to support DANTE simulations. The utilities include phase kinetic parameter fitting tools in Dilot Fit and TTT Fit. A material simulator, a TTT/CCT curve generator, a TTTH/CHT generator, an Ideal Diameter (DI) and a Jominy predictor are all used to test the kinetics parameters. Mec Fit is used to expand the customized plastic mechanical properties of the individual phases. HTC Fit uses thermocouple data to fit a heat transfer coefficient to defined surfaces for use in DANTE models. HTP Sim is used to model the entire heat treatment process for a simplified geometry. Finally, three utilities are used, GCarb, VCarb and GNitro to assist in carburization and nitriding process and design.

**CHT Generator**

* Generates heating time/temperature or continuous-heating curves for checking the phase kinetic parameters of materials in the DANTE database with a focus on the transformation to Austenite

**Dilot Fit**

* Phase kinetic parameter fitting tool for when the user has dilatometry data'

**DI Predictor**

* This utility generates the Ideal Diameter, phase fractions and hardness curves from the DANTE database for use in steel selection

**GCarb**

* A utility for modeling and design of the gas carburization process

**GNitro**

* A utility for modeling and design of the gas nitriding process

**HTC Fit**

* Fits surface convection heat transfer coefficients based on time-temperature thermocouple data

**HTP Simulator**

* HTP Sim can model every step of the heat treatment process for a simplified cylinder or ring-shape geometry. Equipment parameters can be saved and quickly selected to further simplify setup

**Jominy Predictor**

* This utility generates Jominy phase and hardness curves from the DANTE database for comparison with experimental Jominy hardness data

**Mat Simulator**

* Mat Sim is a robust utility for checking phase kinetic parameters using time/temperature or rate/time data to predict the volume fraction and hardness of the individual phases

**Mec Fit**

* This utility is used to customize plastic mechanical properties for individual phases by plotting stress-strain curve data from any three plastic parameters, strain, strain-rate, temperature and/or carbon. The utility can also fit data from experimental stress strain data

**TTT Fit**

* Phase kinetic parameter fitting tool for when the user has TTT curve data

**TTT Generator**

* Generates TTT or CCT curves for checking the phase kinetic parameters of materials in the DANTE database for comparison to experimental TTT/CCT curve data

**VCarb**

* A utility for modeling and design of the vacuum carburization process

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://dante-solutions-inc.gitbook.io/dante-6.3-help-documentation/introduction-2.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
